Corey Harrison Secures Ancient Egyptian Mummy Mask for $30,000 After Tense Negotiation

Las Vegas, NV – In a recent episode of the popular reality series “Pawn Stars,” Corey Harrison of Gold & Silver Pawn Shop made a significant acquisition, purchasing a 2,000-year-old Egyptian cartonnage mummy mask for $30,000. The deal came after a challenging negotiation, with Harrison initially hesitant about the seller’s asking price.

The ancient artifact was brought into the shop by a seller identified as Jad, who explained he was ready to part with the historical piece for someone else to enjoy. Harrison was immediately captivated by the mask’s condition and apparent age. Jad stated the mask dated back to the second century AD, making it a remarkably preserved item from antiquity.

Acknowledging the potential rarity and value, Harrison expressed that such items rarely appear in the shop. Given the substantial potential worth, he called in expert Dr.

Phineas Kastle to authenticate the piece and provide an appraisal. Dr.

Kastle confirmed the mask’s authenticity, noting its unusual depiction of a deceased royal figure riding a lion, which signifies its connection to a person of high status. The expert praised the mask’s impeccable condition, estimating its market value to be between $20,000 and $22,000.

The expert’s valuation presented a challenge, as Jad had initially sought $70,000 for the mask. Following Dr.

Kastle’s departure, a rigorous negotiation ensued. Harrison opened with an offer of $20,000, aligning with the expert’s lower estimate.

However, Jad remained firm, insisting that $30,000 was the absolute minimum he would accept.

Despite Harrison’s attempts to lower the price, citing concerns about the capital tied up in such a specialized item, Jad would not budge. At one point, Harrison nearly walked away from the deal, shaking Jad’s hand in what seemed like a final refusal. However, as Jad began to leave, Harrison reconsidered.

“Alright, alright. You want thirty for it?

I’ll do thirty right now,” Harrison conceded, calling the seller back. Jad promptly accepted the offer, sealing the deal for the ancient Egyptian relic.

The purchase marks another extraordinary historical item added to the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop’s eclectic inventory.
