KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department is searching for a suspect after a 60-year-old man died in the hospital after being badly beaten outside a North Knoxville shopping center.
According to the Knoxville Police Department, the assault happened just before 10 p.m. on Sept. 7 near the Taco Bell in the Broadway Shopping Center. KPD said Brian Overby, 60, sustained numerous injuries to his head and face and was bleeding from a cut on the top of his head.
Overby was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment and eventually died this week after his condition deteriorated. KPD said the Knox County Regional Forensic Center determined that Overby’s death was the result of blunt force trauma likely caused by an assault…
