Two new faces join Lexington’s One Lexington anti-violence initiative

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Two new faces have joined the City of Lexington’s One Lexington initiative, which focuses on addressing gun violence among youth and young adults through mentorship, programs and community outreach.

The initiative is getting bigger by bringing people like Tania Walker and Kenya Ballard on board to help expand its reach and impact.

New Program Coordinator Brings Experience

“We’re moving. Progress is being made. We’re headed in the right direction. Our hearts are in the right place,” said Tania Walker, One Lexington’s new program coordinator.

Walker has worked with the initiative in the past for their “It Takes a Village” summer program and other community outreach efforts. She said her focus will be on improving existing programs and gathering data to secure more funding…
