Gov. Newsom’s decision looms on bill that regulates AI use by businesses

LOS ANGELES — Business owners and corporations are waiting to see if Gov. Gavin Newsom will sign SB 7.

Nayomie Mendoza owns Cuernavaca’s Grill, a restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. She’s hoping the governor vetoes the bill before Sunday’s deadline because it could add a layer of hardship to an already tough industry.
