Two-time Tampa bank robber arrested after mom turns him in, police say

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was arrested on Thursday for attempting to rob a bank after his mother called police to turn him in, authorities said.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office reported that at 1:10 p.m., the suspect, 33-year-old Aaron Spencer, entered the Truist Bank on Memorial Highway and demanded money from the teller by implying that he had a pistol.

According to the sheriff’s office, Spencer then fled the scene on foot and discarded his clothing in a parking lot nearby…
