DC firefighters rescue dog from Southeast apartment fire

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — First responders were called to an apartment fire that displaced at least 15 people and three animals on Thursday afternoon.

The DC Fire and EMS Department (DCFD) said just before 4:45 p.m. that units were in the 2900 block of Knox Pl. SE for a fire.

Officials said that the fire was on the second floor of a three-story apartment building.

Firefighters rescued a dog from the burning building. No civilians reported any injuries, but one firefighter had a minor injury and was taken to the hospital.
