Woman Injured in Daytime Shooting at Roxbury’s Vasquez Pizza And Spanish Food in Boston

A woman sustained injuries after being shot near Vasquez Pizza And Spanish Food in Boston’s Roxbury neighborhood yesterday. The incident, which erupted around 4 p.m. outside the Dudley Street eatery, resulted in over a dozen bullet holes piercing the restaurant’s windows and a glass door, according to a report from CBS News Boston.

Following the shooting, the injured woman was transported to the hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening, state police. Witnesses at the scene recounted the harrowing moment when the shots rang out. “Hearing consecutive shots back-to-back I was like, it messed me up because I was like I don’t feel safe anymore and if we stayed in that block any longer, we probably could have gotten hit in the crossfire,” an individual who was working nearby during the incident told CBS News Boston. Nearby, filled with concern, customers and employees ducked for cover inside a barbershop.

Police have not made any arrests related to the shooting as of yet, and the investigation remains ongoing. The restaurant’s vicinity was cordoned off while authorities marked the scene with evidence indicators.
