I love to see Buffalo in the spotlight! Rochester-raised artist Lord Waya, who is signed to the Buffalo-based Matti Rouse Records, just dropped the video for his single “U Buggin” with Maino. Much of the video was shot in the 716, and Lord Waya feels like he has been adopted by Buffalo. The video has a gritty vibe and lots of ladies clapping….if you know what I mean, lol.
Even though he has the title of “Lord,” Waya did not grow up with a silver spoon or privilege. He was raised in the struggle in Rochester, which helped build his character and authenticity. Waya turned to the rap game to express himself and ultimately for survival. Waya has been using his writing and rapping skills to make a name and life for himself since 2021. That’s when he dropped his first single called “Lordgevity.” Since then, Lord Waya has been grinding and putting in work to make a name for himself.
Shot by Street Heat out of New York City, the “U Buggin” video not only features Harlem rapper, radio host, entrepreneur, and author Maino, there’s also a feature from Mama Jones, mother of NY rap legend Jim Jones. It was directed by Will C and Tana.
In addition to the streets of Buffalo making features, there are a whole lot of pole princesses in Lord Waya’s court. The ladies bring a bit of glam to the otherwise gritty street video…
