Ten years ago, one family was changed forever when Forest Acres Police Officer Greg Alia lost his life in a tragic accident. Instead of letting darkness win Alia’s widow, Kassy Alia Ray, turned tragedy into redemption by eventually founding Serve & Connect, a nonprofit that fosters change through sustainable police and community partnerships.
Fast forwarding to October 2025, Greg’s Place celebrated its grand opening at 8131 Brookfield Rd. The location, a revitalized building in the Woodfield neighborhood, now also serves as the home to Serve & Connect.
