Elliahs Dorsey re-sentenced for killing of IMPD officer Breann Leath

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Elliahs Dorsey, the man convicted of killing Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Breann Leath in 2020, has been re-sentenced.

Dorsey was convicted on six total counts in 2024. Court records show his sixth count, criminal confinement while armed with a deadly weapon, was amended to a higher felony.

A judge on Friday gave Dorsey 16 years for the upgraded count instead of 910 days on the previous count, to be served concurrently with his prior sentence of 25 years. That means Dorsey will not spend any additional time behind bars…
