WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A Cape Fear Community College (CFCC) student who survived a bone marrow transplant is hosting a donation drive this October.
On Thursday, Oct. 23, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Amanda Cooper will host a bone marrow/stem cell donor drive in the Union Station lobby at CFCC’s downtown campus.
Cooper received a bone marrow transplant for a rare blood disorder, and she chose Oct. 23 because it’s her donor’s birthday. Amanda wants to honor her donor by helping others learn about donation, according to event organizers…
