Harrison County Deputies Arrest Mesquite Man for Armed Road Rage Confrontation

Harrison County, TX – A 77-year-old Mesquite man was arrested after allegedly pointing a handgun at another driver and their family during a road rage incident on Interstate 20.

Harrison County deputies were dispatched to the interstate after receiving a report that a vehicle was blocking both lanes and preventing another driver from passing. The reporting party told dispatch they did not know the driver but were eventually able to pass. As they did, the suspect—later identified as Johnny McKinley Byrd—allegedly pointed a silver handgun toward them, placing them and their family in fear for their lives.
