LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Henderson city councilwoman deployed a personal security detail to wriggle away from a news crew and drove her car away instead of answering questions about inconsistencies in what she says publicly about her professional pedigree.
Monica Larson, councilwoman of Henderson’s Ward 2, said only “have a good day” when peppered with questions about her occupation and public statements that she is a “clinical forensic psychologist by trade,” as she says in online videos from 2024 when she was running for office, and “Clinical and Forensic Psychologist,” which she says on multiple social media outlets.
Public record, though, lists Larson as a Psychological Associate in California, which is a precursor to earning a license to practice as a psychologist. Nowhere, not in California or Nevada, is Larson listed as a licensed psychologist.
“Dr. Monica Larson completed her extensive academic studies and successfully defended her dissertation, earning her title as doctor. Dr. Monica Larson worked for years under the license of psychologist Dr. Ekerette Essien. Dr. Larson voluntarily cancelled her registration to be licensed in the state of California as she was relocating to Nevada and retired from psychology. Your attempt to invalidate Dr. Larson’s academic credentials, slander her name, and stalking her is continued harassment.”…
