Evansville Among Cities with the Worst Public Restrooms

It may or may not surprise you that Evansville is home to some of the worst public restrooms in America. We’re talking among the top five worst!

Let’s face it, not every public restroom can be as nice as Buc-ee’s. Public restrooms are very hit or miss. Most of the time, you walk into a public restroom, and you feel like you need to wear a hazmat suit with how disgusting it is. Every now and then, you’ll walk into a public restroom and you’ll be surprised by how clean it is. Let’s be honest, though, those restrooms are few and far between. The majority of the time you go into a public restroom, you will find disgusting things everywhere you look, like clogged and unflushed toilets, no toilet paper, and, to top it all off, no soap to wash your hands.

What makes it even worse is when you really have to go and you can’t find a public restroom nearby. All of those factors, and more, were used to determine the best and worst public restrooms in America, according to research conducted by the TENA brand, which makes incontinence products. As it turns out, Evansville found itself on the list of worst restrooms, but perhaps not for the reason you might expect.

Worst Public Restrooms in America: Evansville Makes the List

Crantson, Rhode Island, Essex, Vermont, and Evansville, Indiana were named as the cities with the “worst” public bathroom access, according to this study. Yes, OUR Evansville came in as the city with the third-worst public restrooms in the entire country. However, it wasn’t because Evansville has a bunch of dirty public restrooms. No, the city made the list due to its sheer lack of public restroom options.

I know what you might be thinking, and I thought the same thing. There are plenty of places throughout Evansville with public restrooms. Granted, not all of them are the most inviting restrooms, but there are still a lot of options. However, for out-of-towners, it might be difficult to find them. Here’s what TENA said:

At the bottom of the list with the lowest overall scores are Cranston, Rhode Island, Essex, Vermont, and Evansville, Indiana. All showed no discoverable public bathrooms on map apps, meaning they scored a 0 across all categories. While this doesn’t necessarily mean there are no public restrooms in these cities, it does highlight the impact of missing or inaccurate tags. It’s a reminder of how essential proper listing is for helping people quickly find facilities when they need them…
