Woman injured after deer crash on I-69, damages total $20K

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — A Fort Wayne woman was injured and sustained extensive damage to her car following a crash involving a deer late Friday evening.

Around 11:50 p.m. Friday, a woman from Fort Wayne was driving south on I-69 when she looked up to check her rearview mirror. At the same time, a deer walked into the road, causing the woman to crash into the animal at 70 miles per hour at the 332-mile marker.

The airbags in the car were deployed and injured the woman’s nose, but was otherwise unharmed, she was later transported to a hospital…
