LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – A 51-year-old teacher at one of Louisville’s most prestigious performing arts schools has been arrested and charged with possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material, according to federal prosecutors.
Federal Agents Say Teacher Shared Illegal Images Online
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky announced that Brian Hinds, a theater teacher at duPont Manual High School’s Youth Performing Arts School (YPAS), distributed explicit photos depicting prepubescent boys to an undercover law enforcement officer in August.
Authorities said Hinds admitted during an October 9 interview to both sending and receiving child sexual abuse material through online messaging applications.
No Evidence of School-Related Victims
Federal investigators emphasized that, at this time, there is no indication any current or former students at duPont Manual or YPAS were involved in the case.
In a statement sent to families, Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) confirmed that it was “aware of the allegations” but that the matter “did not involve school networks or school property.”…
