Montgomery’s legendary Chris’ Famous Hotdogs sold to new owners

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – After being owned and operated by the same family for 108 years, a beloved Montgomery restaurant is about to undergo a change in management.

Chris’s Famous Hotdogs, the iconic downtown restaurant that has been serving the Montgomery community since 1917, has been sold to new owners, Angia Ketachis, the wife of late owner Theo Katechis, announced on Facebook Saturday.

Opened on Dexter Avenue by Greek immigrant Christopher Anastasios “Mr. Chris” Katechis more than a century ago, Chris’ Famous Hotdogs is the oldest family-owned and operated restaurant in Montgomery.
