Middle Texas Coast Advisory: Flooding, Rough Surf Expected Into Sunday

Corpus Christi, TX – The U.S. National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for portions of the Middle Texas Coast, warning of high tides, beach flooding, and a moderate risk of rip currents through the weekend.

According to forecasters, the advisory covers bays and Gulf-facing beaches across Aransas, Kleberg, Nueces, San Patricio, Refugio, and Calhoun counties. Inundation of up to 1.5 feet is possible during high tide, which could flood beach roads and low-lying coastal areas. Additional advisories are expected later this evening and may extend through Sunday.

The weather service notes that hazardous surf and a moderate rip current risk will continue, particularly near piers and jetties. Beach erosion and occasional wave overwash are also possible during peak tides…
