ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Spook the Blocks is back. The River District Association welcomes residents downtown Rockford to trick-or-treat at participating businesses ahead of Halloween.
Spook the Blocks began back in 2015. The free, family friendly event encourages families to dress up in their costumes and enjoy an afternoon of trick-or-treating.
This year the event takes place Saturday, October 25 from 12-4 p.m. in the downtown River District. Businesses who will participate will display an orange pumpkin at their storefront, indicating where families can stop by for candy and other treats.
Some participating businesses include:
- BMO Center
- Woodfire Pizza
- Rockford Art Deli
- Inferno Clay Studio
Besides trick-or-treating, several businesses will offer exclusive one-day-only specials, festive treats and interactive activities for families to enjoy, including pumpkin painting, coloring activities, visits with mascots, glitter tattoos and much more. Organizers say this is the perfect opportunity for visitors to check out all the local goodies the River District has to offer…
