Friday started off on a soggy note, with morning thunderstorms dropping just under half an inch of rain in Springfield. Some areas north of I-44 picked up closer to an inch.
Thankfully, the wet weather didn’t stick around for long. Skies gradually cleared by the evening, and it looks like we’re in for a stretch of drier conditions ahead.
Saturday will begin with some lingering fog and clouds, especially in areas north of I-44 where reduced visibility is likely early on. However, sunshine will return as the day progresses.
Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to low 80s, accompanied by a light breeze out of the north.
Sunday looks even warmer, with highs climbing into the mid-80s under mostly sunny skies. It might feel a bit too warm for traditional fall activities, but overall, it will be a beautiful day.
A cold front will try to push in early next week, but it’s expected to stall out before reaching the Ozarks. As a result, temperatures will remain on the toasty side, and we may even flirt with record highs by midweek.
Rain chances remain slim for much of the week. There is a slight chance of showers Monday in our northwestern viewing area, but Springfield and areas to the south look to stay dry…
