Villagers are worried that Gopher Tortoises aren’t getting enough to eat at the Harold S. Schwartz Wildlife Preserve in the Village of Santiago.

Community Development District 2 Supervisor Tom Swiers began working with a committee in September which includes Patrick Buckley and Pat Blackwell of the Village of Santiago and Sue Gorges of the Village of Fenney.

Some committee members met with a representative of Breedlove, Dennis & Associates, a professional environmental and natural resources consulting firm which has been under contract for several years with The Villages…
