UCF researcher develops DNA-based calculator to detect diseases quicker

A postdoctoral researcher at UCF is working on developing a DNA-based calculator that analyzes DNA and could potentially identify diseases in less time.

The researcher, Andrea Bardales, said this research is vital for the future of medicine because it could help diagnose diseases quicker.

“We are able to basically engineer and make architectures at the molecular level and manipulate them in a way that if you recognize or you just have a specific input, then that computer will function and tell you this is what’s happening,” Bardales said…
