Handicap beach access ramps to be removed in Oak Island to prepare for high tides

OAK ISLAND, N.C. (WECT) – Oak Island Beach is temporarily removing some of its Mobi-Mat Extensions.

The Town of Oak Island states it will be removing the handicap access extensions at the beach accesses located on Keziah Street and SE 46th Street to prevent the mats from getting damaged by high tides and rough surf.
