AUSTIN (KXAN) —A police officer with the Austin Police Department has been removed from patrol and placed on restricted duty after video of an incident on 6th Street according to APD.
KXAN received emails about the incident and reached out to Austin Police for more details.
“Last night, an Austin Police officer struck an individual during a crowd control incident on Sixth Street. After reviewing the video footage, I share the community’s concern and take this matter very seriously.
