Builders FirstSource raises $1.6 million for Blood Cancer United

IRVING, Texas — Builders FirstSource has announced that its 2025 charity event held Sept. 24-25 raised approximately $1.6 million for Blood Cancer United (formerly known as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society). This marks the 19th year of the Builders FirstSource partnership with Blood Cancer United, which has helped raise a total of more than $15 million for critical research, patient support, and advocacy programs dedicated to advancing treatments and cures for blood cancers.

The 2025 event in Las Colinas, Texas, featured a keynote speech by sports broadcasting legend Dick Vitale. The 86-year-old shared some of his most memorable moments in sports and stories from his personal life, including the first time he met Lorraine, his wife of 54 years. He also shared inspiring advice on facing adversity, born from his multiple battles with cancer. Those in attendance had the honor of celebrating with Vitale a report received from his doctors that day that he remains cancer-free. Attendees also heard moving comments from Stephanie Matthews, whose 5-year-old son Jude was diagnosed in 2023, about her family’s ongoing journey.

“We are humbled by the opportunity to support Blood Cancer United in making a difference for those affected by blood cancers,” said Peter Jackson, CEO of Builders FirstSource. “We are also extremely grateful for the ongoing support of our supplier and customer partners. Their generous contributions will help improve the quality of life of blood cancer patients and their families.”…
