Salt Lake City, UT – A multi-impact weather system is sweeping across Utah and southwest Wyoming this Saturday, bringing threats of severe thunderstorms, flash flooding, and high-elevation snow, according to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City.
The NWS reports a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe storms capable of producing wind gusts over 58 mph and hail larger than one inch for most of Utah and southwest Wyoming. A Slight Risk (Level 2 of 4) for flash flooding is in effect for southern Utah, particularly around slot canyons, dry washes, and recent burn scar areas.
Forecasters say a strong cold front will move through the region this afternoon and evening, bringing a band of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and gusty northwest winds.
