The North Canton community was rocked by an active shooter situation that unfolded at the Versailles Gardens Apartments, leading to the wounding of a woman and the arrest of the alleged gunman, 38-year-old Brian Francisco II. According to a report by Cleveland19, Francisco was arraigned on Friday morning, with the court setting his bond at $1.1 million.
The charges against Francisco include one count of felonious assault (F1), two counts of felonious assault (F2), two counts of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation (F2), and one count of inducing panic (F4), as was detailed by WKYC. In an attempt to desperately make sense of the chaos, it’s reported that the shooting began around 8:50 a.m., initiated by a distress call from a woman claiming to have been shot.
Responding officers located the victim, a woman with multiple gunshot wounds, in the hallway of the apartment building. She was quickly taken to a local hospital and is now in the ICU following emergency surgery, with additional surgeries anticipated.
