BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Students at one Birmingham Middle School now have easier access to fresh food.
On Wednesday, Oct. 8, school leaders cut the ribbon on a new in-school grocery store at Huffman Middle School.
According to Birmingham City Council representatives, the store covers approximately 300 square feet and will operate during the school year. The store will allow Huffman students and their families to shop for fresh produce, eggs, bread, pantry staples and other goods for free.
