BEULAVILLE, N.C. — A South Carolina man is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say he stole a vehicle, firearm, and cash from a Beulaville residence before being captured across state lines.
Vehicle and Firearm Stolen from Beulaville Residence
The Beulaville Police Department responded to Grace Park Mobile Home Park on October 5 following a report of a stolen vehicle. Investigators determined that a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe, a SCCY 9mm handgun, and $640 in cash had been taken from the victim’s home.
According to WCTI 12 News, police identified Clifton Marcus Benjamin of South Carolina as the primary suspect in the theft.
Suspect Found Across State Lines
Beulaville police contacted the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina after learning the stolen Tahoe might have crossed into their jurisdiction. Deputies soon located the vehicle abandoned at a local convenience store.
Three days later, on October 8, Benjamin was arrested by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office. During his arrest, officers found him carrying two handguns, including the SCCY 9mm stolen from the Beulaville residence, authorities confirmed.
Facing Multiple Felony Charges
Benjamin now faces several felony charges in North Carolina, including:
- Felony larceny
- Larceny of a firearm
- Breaking and entering a motor vehicle with theft
