Man Taken to Hospital After Self-Inflicted Shooting at Memorial Boulevard Business

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) — A large emergency response drew attention Saturday afternoon to a business on Memorial Boulevard in the Irongate Village shopping center, near Kroger, Papa John’s Pizza, and Hanks. Numerous police vehicles, fire units, and an ambulance were spotted at the scene.

According to Murfreesboro Police Public Information Officer Larry Flowers, “MPD responded to an attempted suicide call. When first responders arrived, they found a man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital.”

The response began around 5 p.m., and by approximately 8:30 p.m., all emergency vehicles had cleared the scene. The Papa John’s location remained closed during what would typically be a busy Saturday evening…
