MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.(WBTW)–Rain continues this morning, with heavier showers along the coast. Light to moderate showers will last us through the afternoon before rain gets more spotty. Inland rain is more scattered and on the lighter side. Sunday is another gusty day, with winds reaching up to 30 mph. Tonight temperatures dip back down into the upper-50s and lower-60s.
Coastal flooding is still possible today across the lower portions of the coastal areas. Water levels will not be as high as what we were seeing, however impacts to Pawleys Island, Cherry Grover, and Little River are possible. As of Sunday afternoon, flash flood warnings have been issued for Horry and Georgetown county. The National Weather Service has issued both a Coastal Flood Advisory and a Flood Advisory for the Myrtle Beach area today. The Coastal Flood Advisory remains in effect until 2 p.m., while the Flood Advisory is in effect until 12:30 p.m. Impacts for minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas are possible. Conditions improve for your next work week.
Monday morning we will still see some moisture across the coast, a chance for lingering rain is likely. Much of the Pee Dee stays mainly dry. Partly cloudy skies will last us through the morning, before the sun comes out in the afternoon. Highs will stay cooler than seasonal in the mid and upper-70s. The sunshine sticks around as we head into your next weekend…
