Join discussion of Paul Prudhomme’s influence on Louisiana cooking: Taste some of his recipes

The Louisiana Inspired Book Club will celebrate and discuss Paul Prudhomme and his “Louisiana Kitchen” cookbook with a live panel discussion and tasting of his recipes. The event will take place at noon Oct. 16, at the Main Library’s large meeting room at 7711 Goodwood Blvd. in Baton Rouge.

Special guests Marcelle Bienvenu and Frankie Bertrand share their Prudhomme insights and discuss Cajun and Creole cuisine and culture, moderated by Louisiana culture editor Jan Risher.

Bienvenu is a Louisiana cookbook author and culinary historian, whose beloved classic, “Who’s Your Mama, Are You Catholic, and Can You Make A Roux?,” is a go-to for treasured Cajun and Creole dishes — recently reprinted with new photographs and a gorgeous bright pink cover.

Afterward, Bienvenu will be available to sign books, with Cavalier House Books on hand to sell them, along with some of Prudhomme’s books as well…
