Local nonprofit gives back at Hispanic Heritage Month event

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — It’s Hispanic Heritage Month and what better way to have the community come together than with a celebration. The Capital District Latinos hosted a Hispanic Heritage Month event and welcomed anyone in the community to join and immerse themselves in the richness of their cultures.

The event first started off with some welcoming speeches to welcome everyone’s Hispanic background. Many families walked around in their traditional clothing and waving their flags. They even stopped for a group photo with all the Hispanic countries together, cheering and chanting out of celebration.

“We’re so far from our countries itself so this is a great opportunity for us to remember everything that we missed from home and reenacted in here,” said Alejandra Martinez, Office Manager for Capital District Latinos.
