Charleston Art Auction Benefits My Sister’s House During Domestic Violence Awareness Month

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Charleston-based Pencils and Pecs and local artist Stephen Cefalo are hosting a silent art auction to benefit My Sister’s House, the Lowcountry’s leading nonprofit serving survivors of domestic violence. The event will take place Saturday, Oct. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The Vendue, Charleston’s art hotel.

For more than 45 years, My Sister’s House has provided shelter, counseling and advocacy for victims of intimate partner violence throughout the Lowcountry. This October, the organization will receive proceeds from Charleston’s first charity auction featuring fine art of life drawing models — a unique collection of original oil and pencil works depicting the models from Pencils and Pecs, Charleston’s popular “sip and sketch” experience.
