The City of Reading has been awarded a $250,000 state grant to begin planning the redevelopment of the former Dana Corporation property, a 50-acre site that has sat vacant for decades.
The funding comes through Governor Josh Shapiro’s PA SITES (Strategic Investments to Enhance Sites) program, which helps prepare former industrial and vacant properties across Pennsylvania for new business investment.
The grant will allow the city to complete a detailed redevelopment plan for the Dana site, including environmental assessments, infrastructure evaluations, and utility capacity studies.
