OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — Members of faith and advocacy groups held the first Secret City Pride Festival in Oak Ridge on Sunday.
Several dozen people gathered at the Unitarian Universalist Church for the event. They talked to representatives from organizations such as the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network, the county health department, Planned Parenthood and more. Many also sang along with local musicians, soaked up the sunny fall morning at nearby food trucks, and even took turns volunteering for a dunk tank.
Phoenix, who has lived in Oak Ridge their entire life, said they were excited to volunteer for the dunk tank because they had a chance to bring someone else joy. Phoenix hoped that everyone who attended went home a little happier than when they arrived…
