PHOTOS: Hundreds take part in 19th annual Step UP 5K & Family Festival to support Down syndrome

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Hundreds of Richmonders took part in the largest fundraiser for the Virginia Down Syndrome Association on Saturday morning, bringing awareness and support to those with Down syndrome.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, many families gathered at Dorey Park in Richmond for the 19th annual Step UP 5K & Family Festival — an event emceed by Chief Meteorologist Matt DiNardo.

DiNardo brought cloudy skies and temperatures in the lower 60s, energizing runners and walkers of all ages.
