BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB/Gray News) – A former nursing assistant has been indicted by a grand jury for negligent homicide after the death of a patient, according to the Louisiana attorney general.
Authorities say the indictment of Diamond Johnson, of Zachary, came following an investigation by Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.
Johnson worked at Jefferson Manor, a nursing home in Baton Rouge. In June 2024, she was using a hydraulic lift to move a female patient from a chair to a bed when the patient slipped out of the side of the lift and landed on the feet of it, according to Murrill’s office…
