AUSTIN, Texas — It’s a busy month for tourism in Austin between the Austin City Limits Music Festival (ACL) and the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix. Transportation Security Officers (TSO) at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) have their work cut out for them. The uncertainty about when the government will reopen has federal workers wondering how they’re going to pay the bills.
Ahead of ACL’s second weekend, the Austin airport was bustling with people arriving in the city for the festival.
“I’m here with my girlfriends,” said Cassidy Henault, who traveled to Austin from South Carolina. “I’m so excited. We’ve been thinking about this for a long time, and we got tickets, and now we’re here, and I can’t wait to see what Austin has to offer.”…
