Dallas Police Seize 162 Kilos of Methamphetamine After Community Tip

DALLAS, TX – Dallas police have seized 162 kilograms of methamphetamine following a community tip that led officers to a suspected drug trafficker in West Oak Cliff on October 1. The bust also resulted in the recovery of $100,000 in cash and a handgun, making a significant impact on local drug trafficking operations. One suspect was detained as the investigation continues.

The operation, carried out by Southwest Patrol CRT/Deployment officers, began after a tip from the community led them to the 4300 block of Communications Drive. Officers conducted a traffic stop on the suspect’s vehicle and discovered the significant stash of methamphetamine, cash, and a firearm during a thorough vehicle search.

The methamphetamine seized during the bust represents a major win in the battle against drug trafficking in Dallas. Deputy Chief Kylee Hawks, commander of the South Patrol Group, praised the efforts, saying, “Getting any amount of drugs off the street is a win, and getting more than 160 kilos of meth off the street is a major success.”
