The City of Greeley has received $1,749,977 from Great Outdoors Colorado to launch Generation Wild Greeley. This new program will help families in east Greeley explore and enjoy the outdoors. The grant comes from Colorado Lottery funds, so no local tax dollars are used.
What the program will do
Colorado has amazing mountains, trails and outdoor activities, but not everyone has the chance to enjoy them. Generation Wild Greeley will bring outdoor experiences to neighborhoods, making it easier for families to access nature close to home. Programs include:
- Learn to camp: For families who have never been camping
- Field trips: Visits to local parks and natural areas
- Mobile nature activities: Outdoor learning brought to the neighborhood
- Community-designed programs: Activities shaped by what families want and need
Spending time outdoors helps both kids and adults. Kids who play outside are more active, less stressed and do better in school. Outdoor programs also give families a chance to spend time together and connect with their neighbors…
