The MGM Northfield hosted York, Pennsylvania-founded Live on Saturday night. Playing to a large crowd, the quintet ran through a fifteen-tune set, starting at 8:00 PM and finishing up about ninety minutes later. Frontman, founder, and only original member still left in the outfit, Ed Kowalczyk, led his band from center stage, stoically propping up his mic stand with his six-string and a subdued demeanor. His vocals were crisp and clear; the band, primarily younger musicians, sounded tight.
Known for a string of hits in the mid-90s, the band had a smash with “Lightning Crashes,” which stayed atop the charts for ten weeks in early 1995. Offering that tune as an encore, LIVE then left the stage…
