Newborn baby found dead on 40th Street in DC, police say

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Officers are investigating after a newborn baby was found dead in Northeast D.C. on Sunday.

Police on scene of ‘suspicious death’ on Beauregard Avenue in Manassas

Around 8:45 a.m. on Oct. 12, officers responded to the 300 block of 40th Street, Northeast, for a report of an infant death. Upon arrival, police found a newborn baby unconscious and not breathing.

DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene, but despite all lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead.
