Syracuse Police K9 Team Tracks Down Suspects, Recovers Two Semi-Automatic Handguns

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — A Syracuse Police K9 team helped take two semi-automatic handguns off the streets following a shots fired incident early Friday morning.

According to Syracuse Police, around 2:15 a.m. on September 19, K9 Officer Nye and his partner, Jarda, responded to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Wellesley Road.

Upon arrival, officers directed Nye and Jarda to the area where the suspects had last been seen. During their track, K9 Jarda led Officer Nye to a thick, grassy area where they located a blue backpack matching the description of one seen on a suspect during the initial call…
