Midtown Beach in Palm Beach Closed Due to Rough Surf and Erosion from Tropical Storm Jerry

Midtown Beach in Palm Beach will be temporarily closed to the public due to rough surf and significant erosion. The closure will remain in effect until further notice for public safety, according to a statement from Town of Palm Beach.

The hazardous conditions are being caused by Tropical Storm Jerry and a developing coastal low-pressure system, which are expected to bring strong surf to Florida’s East Coast this weekend. Wave heights could reach 8–10 feet, and residents and visitors are advised to stay off the beach and out of the water.
