COLUMBIA, S.C. — Former Lowcountry banker Russell Laffitte, who helped disgraced attorney Alex Murdaugh with multiple financial schemes has been sentenced to eight years behind bars.
Laffitte learned his fate Monday morning at a courthouse in downtown Columbia.
Judge Heath Taylor sentenced Laffitte to eight years in state prison which will run concurrently with the five-year sentence handed down by the federal court earlier this month.
