Pittsboro has the spotlight this week in local government, as the town board considers a major proposal that’s been in the works for several years: the Reeves Farm development, which would build 1,700 residences and a million square feet of retail and commercial space on 500 acres along Route 64 west of downtown. Also in local government this week: Orange County Commissioners will meet jointly with the county’s fire chiefs to debrief after Tropical Storm Chantal, and the Hillsborough town board will swear in a new police chief.
Here’s a rundown of local government meetings this week in Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties.
