Driver crashes truck into two North Little Rock homes following medical episode

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A dramatic crash late Monday morning left two homes damaged after a pickup truck barreled off the road near the intersection of Gum Street and West 35th Street. The driver, an elderly man reportedly suffering a medical emergency, lost control of his vehicle, sending it careening through yards, a gas meter and ultimately into two separate residences.

The incident happened around 11:45 a.m., according to eyewitness Robert Kelly, who lives across the street from where the crash happened.

“He hit a sign (across the road from my home), and I saw him go down,” Kelly said, pointing to a damaged street sign. “He hit one house and ended up in another house over there. That’s when I came out the door just moments after.”

According to Kelly, the truck first struck a street sign, then plowed through a bush and hit a gas meter on the side of the first house, damaging the porch in the process. The vehicle continued through the yard, narrowly missing a stop sign and a mailbox, before crashing into a second house…
