Diesel fuel spills into Wasilla-area lake, shutting public access down, authorities say

WASILLA, Alaska (KTUU) – An unknown amount of diesel fuel spilled into a lake in Wasilla, resulting in a cleanup response from state authorities Monday morning.

The spill shut down the lone public access point to Finger Lake — located between East Bogard Road, the East Palmer-Wasilla Highway, and Trunk Road in Wasilla — until further notice, according to Stuart Leidner, Mat-Su/Copper River Basin park superintendent.
