A fatal incident on a Fayetteville street has claimed the life of a pedestrian over the weekend. The Fayetteville Police Department reported that the accident occurred on Country Club Drive around 8:10 p.m. last Saturday, as noted in a CBS 17 news release. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene after stepping into the path of the vehicle.
Details shared by WRAL indicate that the driver of the car involved in the incident remained on the site, cooperating with law enforcement as they arrived. Police had to temporarily close Country Club Drive to fully to investigate between Clearwater Drive and Rose Hill Road.
